It’s usually the most wonderful time of the year. But for travelers, this December was easily the weirdest time of the year. Omicron spikes, flight cancellations, and bad weather made getting away for the holidays a big mess for many (We hope you didn’t get caught up in it.)
But Santa left a nice present for all of us in the KOALA community: Vacationers haven’t stopped booking your listings! Optimism about the future — and a swelling amount of pent-up demand for family vacations — made December one of our busiest booking months ever, and January is looking to be even bigger!
So how to ride the wave? We’ve analyzed KOALA booking data from last month, and listed the most-booked resorts, units, and dates for the major timeshare brands below. The info will help guide you as you decide what, where, and when to list.
In general, we’re seeing a lot of bookings for this spring and summer. (But last-minute bookings move, too, so long as they’re priced to sell — think about dropping your price by around 20% from what you would normally charge.) Sunshine is a big draw, with Florida, Hawaii, and the Caribbean among our most-wanted destinations. We’re also seeing demand for ski vacations this winter and spring and for perennial getaway destinations like Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Newport, R.I.; and Branson, Mo.

Bluegreen
Sun-seekers followed the siren call of St. Pete Beach, Florida, where Bluegreen at Tradewinds has an enviable location right on the water. The most-booked unit at the resort was the Studio Gulf Front, with an average nightly price of $188, and we saw the majority of bookings in the spring.
One of the great things about the Wisconsin Dells is that it’s a year-round destination. Summer is for waterparks, obviously, but winter brings skiing, snowboarding, and beautiful snow-covered scenery. Perhaps that’s why we’re seeing bookings for 2-Bedroom Cottages at Bluegreen Vacations Christmas Mountain Village in both winter and summer.
Club Wyndham
For Wyndham owners, our Club Wyndham Request Hub should be your first stop. Here, you can see confirmed bookings that we’ve already received from travelers, and select the ones you want to fulfill with your points. The best part: You’ll know exactly how much your payout will be.
Prefer to create your own listing? Here’s where we’re seeing the most action: Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek at Disney World, where the 2-Bedroom Deluxe units went for an average of $176 per night; Club Wyndham Nashville, where 2-Bedroom Deluxe units fetched $167 on average; and Margaritaville Vacation Club St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where the most popular unit is the Studio – Poolside, booked for an average $173/night. For all the resorts, spring was the most popular season.

Hilton Grand Vacations
If you’re not using some (or all) of your HGV membership this year, fret not! Head straight to our HGV Community Hub. It’s a list of confirmed bookings we’ve received from travelers. You just select which one(s) you want to fulfill, and you’ll know exactly how much you’ll earn. We’ll even cover the $59 reservation fee!
Prefer to go your own way but need some guidance? Honolulu’s Grand Islander by HGV, a perennial favorite with KOALA travelers, was again the most-booked resort in the brand’s portfolio last month. The most popular unit, the 2-Bedroom Plus – Partial Ocean View, saw an average nightly rental rate of $277.
Also popular is Sunrise Lodge by HGV in Park City, Utah, where travelers gravitated toward the Studio Plus unit, especially over Presidents Day Weekend, and paid an average of $465/night.

Marriott Vacation Club
The 1 Bedroom Villas at Willow Ridge Lodge in Branson, Missouri, was the most popular MVC unit booked by vacationers last month. Bookings were mostly in winter and early spring and fetched an average of $100 per night.
Adele had to cancel, but that didn’t stop Vegas-bound vacationers from booking rooms at Marriott’s Grand Chateau last month. The most popular room: a 2-Bedroom, which brought in a nightly average of $264, mostly for this spring. Good intentions and the highest hopes, indeed.
