With almost half of the US population(!) partially vaccinated, travelers are wasting no time booking their long-awaited getaways. Here’s the scoop on the latest booking trends and how you can position your listings to take advantage:
Summer and Fall Breaks are Calling
This month, we’ve seen families jumping at the chance to book stays for the summer and fall, particularly in June, July, August, and October. While this is similar to trends we reported in April; it’s clear from the booking numbers alone that the desire to travel has never been higher. And May isn’t even over! Capitalize on the increased demand by locking in reservations for summer and fall dates in the most desirable destinations (hint hint: Florida, Virginia, and the US Virgin Islands).

And remember, the more you price competitively and offer flexible cancelation policies, the more likely travelers are to book your listings.
Where Do Travelers Want to Go?
Much like last month, travelers crave adventures that center around the family in locations that allow them to bask in the great outdoors comfortably.
So far in May, our most booked resort continues to be fan-favorite Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort at Disney World. This comes as no surprise, as the beloved resort is only a stone’s throw away from the Disney Parks, with amenities that keep people coming back for more (Ahoy there, pirate-ship pool!).

In order of popularity, other most booked resorts are Club Wyndham Kingsgate, Club Wyndham Margaritaville St. Thomas, and Club Wyndham Palm-Aire.

Two-Bedroom Units Provide Space to Spread Out
60% of travelers snagged roomy Two-Bedroom units on KOALA, making them consistently our most booked unit type on the platform. It just goes to show that condo-style suites complete with multiple bedrooms, massive living areas, full kitchens, and in-unit washers and dryers resonate with families in a way that standard hotel rooms and home rentals do not. And the added bonus of easy access to amenities like pools, spas, lazy rivers, and more makes any vacation fun for the whole family.
Price with the Competition in Mind
Hosts are learning that competitive pricing pays off. The average booking price for two-bedroom units came out to $1156 for a 7-night stay or around $165/night. 3 Bedroom units averaged at $1438/week or $205/night. And studios averaged at $1329 for the week and $189 a night.
We’ve noticed a massive uptick in bookings ever since the launch of our Suggested Listings feature and our Stays page. So whether travelers are searching for specific dates or aren’t sure where they want to go, there has never been a better chance for travelers to see and book your listings.
