Summer is in full swing, and American families are brushing aside economic concerns and taking their long-awaited vacations. Bookings remained solid on KOALA last month, as travelers seek lower-cost alternatives to traditional resorts, which keep jacking up rates. 

Inflation is a bummer for most travelers, but timeshare ownership’s true value can shine amidst economic instability. Yes, maintenance fees go up, but your timeshare ownership is built to hedge against this inflation. Those of you more personally affected by economic turmoil can rent your timeshare on KOALA to defray your costs and help weather the proverbial storm. 

Of course, travelers are more budget-conscious as well — so price your listings attractively compared to traditional resorts and vacation rentals. Vacationers love it when they get a lot more (space, kitchens, resort amenities, the works) for a lot less dough. At the same time, owners like you are earning higher payouts than a year or two ago. 

May’s booking data bears that out: The average price per night paid was up nearly 8% over April. This summer’s hot spots? Beach destinations, plus driveable, family-friendly spots (Branson, the Wisconsin Dells, Colonial Williamsburg). Vacationers are also thinking ahead to next year — we had quite a few vacationers lock in great deals for spring and summer 2023. Because if 1980s music can be back in style (welcome back, Kate Bush!), why can’t 1980s resort prices?
